Kep your hair neat, don't chew gum and remember to flush the loo. Otherwise the food in the malls is amazing. Have a greattime

Good advice Ed!!! The loo one was a given, I ALWAYS flush!!! My curly hair is a bit wild and I doubt it will be worth straightening in all that heat, I will only frizz anyway so no point!! I have luckily found myself a guide, a cupcake student lived there for 8 years and she is joinging me so I think we will have a great time!! Thanks heaps Vida x

The zoo was surprisingly good.

Food mall foods is very good. Harbour city has a big food mall that is good. The yum cha there is also very good.

Orchard road for some shopping.

Have a good time there.

Hey Sarah, I will keep that in mind. I am looking at accommodation and it is quite daunting... there is so much choice and it's really hard doing it from photos only!! Hope I make a good choice. I am getting very excited! Vida x

OOOH! When are you going? I may just be there! Have you sorted your hotel out yet? Email me if you want any advice, SIN is one of my favourite ports and I spent a few years there when I was growing up, too xx

Hi Vida
When I went to Bali - I did wonderful cookery courses with Penny at the Alila Mangis hotel - http://www.alilahotels.com/Manggis/ - the cookery school was in a paddy field (and they do trips to the market too). Penny is Australian and was just a wonderful teacher. The other hotel we stayed in said they could organise cookery classes if I wanted them so the hotel you are staying in might be able to organise something if you go in advance. Where are you staying? we loved Bali and you will have a wonderful time.

Vida - should have said that if you go back to posts on my blog from September 2007 there are lots of details of the trip to Bali and pictures of the cookery school and our holiday. You must go on an early morning trip to the markets - it was all so amazing, spices, chillies, live animals - I know you would love it.

Oh the hotel looks lovely! What a nice time you will have. I am sure they will be able to organise classes for you and trips for the markets. The people of Bali were so friends and were happy to organise anything we asked for. It says the Chefs go to the market to buy produce in the mornings so definitely ask if you can go with them! Some of the posts are early October pictures of the markets etc!
Yours, very enviously!!!
